About Hill Resources

Our People

Since 1991 Hill Resources has been providing safe, high quality programs for people with developmental challenges such as Mental Retardation. Our philosophy is to approach each person served as if they were a part of our own family. We believe that God owns everything and that we are stewards of His resources. Therefore, we seek His guidance through prayer when considering the needs of each person requesting our services and in the selection of employees who serve in our organization.

We are licensed and certified by the State of Texas and the Department of Labor to provide the following MHMR services: ICF-MR; HCS; case management; residential; nursing; vocational; and day habilitation services. All our employees are required to complete comprehensive training and pass tests to assure they are prepared to meet the needs of those we serve. We do a minimum of 3 background checks for each potential employee; criminal history, employee misconduct and nurse aide registry.  We also require a minimum of 3 reference checks. We have each new employee work with an experienced employee initially to help with the transition. Our Direct care Staff are absolutely key to providing quality services.

Our Places

Our homes are located in safe, quality, residential neighborhoods and are maintained with the highest standards with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

We offer small-group home settings with 24-hour care staff. We provide both Home and Community Support (HCS Waiver programs- private rooms) and Intermediate Care Facilities for persons with Mental Retardation (ICF/MR with private and semi-private rooms). These programs allow us to provide the individuals we serve with a variety of options such as: assisted living, supportive home living, care management, respite care, nursing, small residential group homes and foster care services.

We offer both day habilitation and vocational services.

Our day habilitation program Culpepper’s is located in historic downtown Abilene, Texas, and provides social integration training and specialized individual programming.

Culpepper Creek Farms is located on the northeast side of Abilene, Texas. The greenhouses at the Farm produce top quality plant products while clients can receive compensation for their work. Clients learn the intricacies of growing a variety of plants popular to the region. These plants are then sold to various area retail outlets. Clients also participate in gardening and recreational activities in our peaceful farm setting.

Both programs participate in field trips/outings, arts & crafts, seasonal celebrations and host regular barbecues.

Community day programs such as the City Recreation Department are available if an individual prefers these types of programs.

Our System

Great care in today’s world of documentation requires efficiencies and accurate information to assure proper treatment plans. TaskMaster Pro is a web based system that tracks our residents Medical, Psychological, Programming, Day Habilitation, Goals, Maintenance and Communication in such an efficient manner it allows our management team, QDDP, Case Managers, Nurses more time to interact with of our residents and more onsite monitoring.

TaskMaster Pro translates to better and safer care. For example, not only are our staff trained to respond to any medical occurrences, our system also prompts them when follow-ups are needed to see how the resident is responding to treatment by displaying 1 hour, 6 hour, 12 hour and 48 hour follow-ups. The staff responds to these and the nurse is able to see their response immediately. This keeps the nurse and the staff monitoring care on the same page and helps assure our residents are improving from their ailment and not digressing. This is just one feature of many that are available to support our staff in serving you or your loved one. We are able to focus on people not paper!  Taskmaster Pro
